It is inspired (loosely) on the Dark Tower series by Stephen King (which is a fantastic read, but it's quite a commitment). I call the series "Bridge of Worlds" and it runs with the assumption that the entire multiverse of worlds that the characters live on are all connected by a series of "bastions". These "bastions" hold the worlds to the core of the multiverse, some worlds have one bastion some have many. There is no need (i feel) to get into anymore detail with the fundimentals than that, the characters won't be getting that involved in it anyway (and it adds to the mystery). The powers of chaos are trying to break the bations on each world essentially setting the wolrd free from the multiverse core. The bastions' connection with the core enable the population and the physics to function correctly. Without the connection the world would fall to ruin (over a peiod of many years) perhaps destoying it. This is a bad thing (obviously) and the characters not knowing about this or the conections or anything about these, it would come to them as a bit of a surprise. There are magic and high tech worlds and everything inbetween, some worlds (farther away from the core would actually have negative effects to magic, subtraction to spellcaster levels, durations, basic effectiveness, and the oppsite is true with high tech devices closer to the core), psionics are not effected at all (more on that later). Chaos feels that if they can destroy enough or all of the bastions on the worlds then they can cause the multiverse to implode and start over and maybe they can have the upperhand in new multiverse on the next go. The average grunt peon and most of the bosses on the worlds do not know this, they just get unusual support to do the things they like to do anyway. The smarter more "clued-in" bosses are offered a position in the new multiverse regime. I will have the characters start off in a cyber-punk world with high tech slowly being introduced to some dark magic weilding bad guys. The world is called 313 and the numbers appear regularly around the characters (home adresses, phone numbers, toothpicks falling on the floors in a diner add up to 313, ect...). The two bations on the starting world are a clock tower and an autistic musically gifted child. If the bad guys kill the child then the bastion reincarnates into someone new and they have to find the new bastion. The way the chaos destroys the bastion link is a complex ritual involving psionic using folk. In 313 they need 3 psionics for 8 hours then 1 for 4 hours then 3 for 8 more (the psionic using villians are recruted/kidnapped/harvested/bribed to join on another world, 654 which is a post-apcolypse world, and some are not bad people at all they are just trying to survive). The characters have to stop the bad guys from destroying the clock tower and the child and eventually fight off the chaos boss on this world (who happens to be a vampire). As the characters get involved in the campaign i will clue them in on the motivations of chaos and answer some mysterious questions. i am also debating on having the elements play a small factor in the chaos/order war. Wind/ Fire are on the chaos side and Water/ Earth are on the order side, this will allow some contiuity between worlds. I also plan on having several names show up many times in different worlds. A company name Terra Firma Inc. will be on the return mailing address on a gift to one of the characters, and if the characters pursue the company they can make friendly contacts and get some back up/support from them. It will also be the name of a order base in the post-apcolypse world in 654. This is my basic outline so far, this campaign will alow me to use whatever D20 Modern resources i want and add or subtract certain aspects in each. ~~sorry if this post seems a bit fragemented and all over the place, i have not in an orderly fashion put anything down to paper as of yet. I write down notes on bits of scrap paper as i think of them and then review later~~ thanks ahead of time for your comments.</p></blockquote><p></p>
[QUOTE="Koroski, post: 4155472, member: 61349"] I am drafting a new campaign and i could use some positive (or negative) feedback.
