Okay, this might be a bit long, and it all strts with a little Gnome, who is just known as Gnomey. I created Gnomey when the a PC was in dire need of him due to severe burns to his arm from dragon breath. so, Gnomey came along with his pack and brought qith him his insta-home that is basically a big hom that can be compacted into a small one and made big again by pushing a button. He said he could fix the PCs arm if he had a certain plant that was somewhere in his greenhouse that he has not looked in in years. So the PCs go on a mini-adventure and get the plant in the Gnomes greenhouse(which is also in his insta-house). After they get the plant and Gnomey repairs the Pcs arm they are on their way and they will not see Gnomey again for one hundred years... So, on a later adventure they find themselves one hundred years in the future is a post-apocalyptic world fightinhg a mage atop his floating city. They have reached a stalemate as they have destroyed his summoned demons but he has erected a wall of force around him and the PCs cant get through it. The Pcs roll a percentile for the pray to their god mechanic we have in game, and they roll high so Gnomey pops up right behind the mage in his jetpack like invention and then loses control of it and crahses into the mage, breaking his concentration and causing him to lose controll of his spell. Needless to say he does not live long after. So, after the battle the body starts glowing and all the PCs hit the deck and they suddenly find themsleves back to their own time(they had been wanting to get back as soon as they got to the future). Althoug future Gnomey is not with them. They do not encounter Gnomey again until they are fighting a power crazed Cleric in his inner sanctum in an elven city. After they manage to defeat him the city starts to collpase due to the Cleric making it with his final breath. As they watch the city collapse a familiar figure comes barreling out of the city on his jetpack(which he again loses control of). It is from then on that Gnomey follows them around writing down important records of their adventure so it can later be published. This is where I really began to become Gnomey. In combat he stays out of the way and records the details of the battle. He occasionally helps them with some problem, but he never fights as I just said. I RPed Gnomey as being a bit silly, having a high-pitched voice and being highly eccentric. Doing things such as taking organs from dead enemies. Well, lets fastforward a bit, someone else is now DMing and Gnomey still follows the part around, but does not participate in combat still. I am playing a Paladin who is a bit protective of Gnomey, and now I find myself making a character sheet for Gnomey, more just for fun than anything else. I even find myself drawing little doodles of Gnomeys new inventions, like the floating alchemy lab with floating lab table and floating Gnomey too. I think I am a bit obsessed...
