Oddly, I do care - but I don't buy 4E stuff. I've probably got enough D&D stuff to keep a small village playing D&D for years, but I'm always interested in what's coming next. Minis gone? Bummer, there were monsters I was hoping would have come out in the easy-to-transport, don't-have-to-paint-them plastic (Gargantuan Green, for one). Map tiles? Regardless of edition, I like these and can use them in just about any game. Board Games - Get your D&D fix in one-shot bursts? Yes, please (though so far, I prefer Descent to the Castle Ravenloft boardgame ... maybe it'll get where I like it). VTT? Kinda, got Fantasy Grounds but curious to see what WotC does with theirs. Character Builder? Well, got me there - I don't do D&D 4E, but I'm willing to watch to see how the "industry leader" supports it, as that may have consequences for other such products. D&D computer game? Definitely willing to give it a try (heck, XBOX D&D Heroes is one my favorite console D&D games). 4E essentials vs. "classic"? I keep watching, hoping the game will turn a corner where I want to try playing again. Essentials almost drew me in, but wasn't quite enough. Dungeon and Dragon content? Don't get it (got a Pathfinder AP subscription), but if I ever swing back to playing D&D I'd like to know what state it's in before I plunk down money on it - especially Dungeon. The state of 5E? Pathfinder? Exalted? Savage Worlds? Definitely - I want to know if it's something I'll be playing or I'm going to stop buying. If WotC makes the "right things", I'll care about it, even buy it. So yes, I do care what WotC is doing.
