One in particular is that that was thousands of years ago. Nobody really believes it happened anymore and the eventual modernization, technology, and war continues on at a rapid pace (but still medieval, of course), much to the dismay of most priests or followers of the old ways. The world is in danger of succumbing to darkness simply because technology is the antithesis of nature, and nature is the basis of Light (in this world). Also, as I wrote that, I thought that perhaps the dark world could have some kind of brute technology: war machines, etc. Oh, and to top it all off, respected leaders in the world are backed by the machinations of darkness for some reason, wanting power above all else....wait a minute, this is beginning to sound like LotR.
