I have this REALLY cool idea. No, it's not a joke. I just don't have time to work on it myself, and shepherd it through the whole process, what with college, a wife, a job, and all that. Hell, I don't even have time to game IRL. Think about a world based around Egyptian-style mythos - two warring civilizations sprawling along two parallel massive Nile-like deltas. Seperating them is large expanses of desert, which strange nomads wander, drawing water from the dust with rites forgotten to all others. Thousands of years before, there was but one river - but nobody remembers which river was the original one. Each civilization claims that the other stole "life" from them - in the form of diverting the river's flow somewhere far upstream and splitting off a seperate flow for their "deviant ideas." Primary races: Anubites, Apshaians, Bastites, Dwarves, and Humans. The Dwarves and Humans are exiles from a distant land that none remember. Anubites are dog-like pack-warriors, Apshaians are strange hive mind insects, with the occasional rogue individual who breaks free, Bastites are cat-people - more along the lines of a vicious, cruel tormentor than Fluffy, folks. Metals: Copper is about as good as it gets. Iron cannot be found anywhere in the earth, which has caused a practically racial malaise amongst the Dwarves. Formerly brash, loud, and bombastic, they now are sullen, quiet, and withdrawn - and many withdraw from the world entirely, into DreamForges - mystical environments which allow them to create and work with metals not found in the earth. This is just a little bit of what I've got - if you e-mail me, and indicate you're willing to carry this idea all the way through, I'll toss in some more backstory. There's some SERIOUS stuff going on here. Campaign name: Shattered Destiny. Oh, and the only thing I want if you make it big with the idea is a line in the credits, and if possible, a free copy of the source book. Should be doable...
