I normally don't post in the Off-topic forum, but I so need to vent. Last night some @$$**** broke the rear driver-side window of my car and stole my computer bag, which I had (very stupidly) left in the car, in the floor right behind the driver seat. I'm sure they thought they were getting a laptop, though they didn't, as I had the laptop with me inside the house. What they did get was my network card, the power cord (which I now need to reorder for the second time, as that was a replacement I got after my cat bit through the original one), my checkbooks (personal and Highmoon Media Productions account) and (what really really hurts) my journals, both my day-to-day personal journal, and my travel journal from my recent two-weeks vacation to Holland and Belgium. I could care less about the material things, but loosing my journals hurts like a piece of my heart and soul were ripped out (which in a way, they were). Those were my uncensored, unadulterated, raw thoughts and feelings on my daily life, not to mention all the memories from a wonderful vacation through the Low Countries (and to top it off, it was the very first travel journal I had actually gotten to finish all the way through). Somewhere in Miami, so idiot (to keep this PG) has my journals, and has probably just tossed the whole bag away in some dumpster, abandoned field or canal/lake, robbing me of something irreplaceable. I fully believe in Karma (in Judaism it's known as the law of Midda-Kenneged-Midda, Measure for Measure), so I have no doubt this(these, someone was driving the getaway car) idiot(s) will get their just punishment at some point, but I don't know that I'll ever recover the most important thing I lost last night, and that stings deep. On a lighter note, my wife asked me if I had anything in the journal that may be damaging. I told her that no, I keep my megalomaniac schemes in a different journal guarded by magic, to which she responded, "Geek."
