Wow, this one's definitely getting bought. Right up my alley!

The God of War games are quite good, you would have Chains of Olympus, Ghost of Sparta just came out and would cost about what you paid for all three games, but worth getting if you do enjoy the first game.

Since you are willing to branch out some I'll also recommend LittleBigPlanet, a fun well designed platform with deep creation tools that let you make your own levels (or just take advantage of the things others create).

I'm starting to really put together a big list of games! By the time I get through these ones that I like, if GoW is one of them, the sequel will probably drop in price by the time I want it. I tend to stick with one game I really like until I complete it, then I move onto the next one. I'm going to print out a list and just see what my local GameStop has that is used and cheap. I'm sure just a couple of games will keep me busy for a while.

That being said, I had a few more suggested to me, any reactions to these games?:

Alright guys, here's my update:

I've pretty muich been playing "The Legend of Heroes" exclusively, which is a lot of fun, and really reminds me of a game in the early Final Fantasy vein.

Something was bothering me about it though, and that is that it's a completely railroaded story. No options to even get lost and go the wrong way.

I picked up Jeanne D'Arc tonight and plan on giving it a go. It really looks special.

I bought this system exclusively for the two WipeOut games. I'm sorry, I don't play console games for 'rp' or story.

my wife likes RPGs and played a lot of them on the PSP. Since she got the iPod touch and then iPhone, the PSP has gathered dust.

But in its day, she liked Untold Legends. She has a ton of RPGs... I'd have to check the shelf..
