I just noticed a flaw in the CMG 3.5 SRD

I got a copy of the Creative Mountain Games SRD pdf's 2 years ago when I kicked in some cash to the Enworld fund drive when Enworld needed a new server. IT has been pretty handy so far, butI just noticed a flaw in it.

I was running the Red Hand of Doom, and the Maurader attack had some Hell Hounds. To make life easy for myself, I printed off a copy of the Hell hounds stat sheet.

Well, when determining if a player scored a hit, I noticed that the Hell Hound had about AC 24 and 114 Hp. I then thought "Oh, I just printed off the wrong page". I then double checked and noticed that both entry's for the Hell Hounds have the stats for the Greater Hell Hound.

Well, my players were relieved that I made the correction.

This is not a complaint. Its a great product that has come in handy. And I more or less got it for free, which is also good. But you may want to be careful when running encounters with hell hounds... (I am sure that this flaw was probably caught and corrected by someone by now)

Nice catch! I hope it didn't throw off your game too much. I guess I hadn't used any helhounds prior to when the stat block version of the creatures were added as an additional pdf to the SRD 3.5 Bundle. No one else has mentioned it, IIRC, so it may be that most others have been using the stat block versions, too. Do you prefer the original format? I guess I should be collecting some "actual use" information from people on this product in case 4E (or 3.75E :D ) also has an SRD to set up in the same manner.

Most of the use I get out of this product is for printing off the statblock pages of monsters I am not used to running. When I run Orcs, Hobgoblins, or whatever, I tend to customize equipment. But for non humanoid monsters (Hydras, Ankheg, Manticores), I like to print the page to have it handy.

The spell selections are handy for quickly looking up a spell, but I do not typically print them.

It did not throw the game off much, I just had to use the entry in the Monsterous manual instead. A minor annoyance, since in the 3.5 MM, it is split across 2 pages.
