Message: <blockquote data-quote="BSF" data-source="post: 2029489" data-attributes="member: 13098">Well, you would be better off asking this in the rules forum.  Maybe a Mod will be kind enough to move it there shortly?I would suggest you double-check your typed bonuses and be cler on which ones stack and which ones overlap.  Secondly, the Book of Exalted Deeds is cool.  but it breaks the system in that it enforces roleplaying limitations as a "balance" to mechanical benefits.  This ran rampant through 2nd Ed and was the cause of many problems.  If you aren't willing to RP heavily the Exalted challenges, then you shouldn't allow the Book of Exalted deeds into your game.  A PC that was truly exalted would have quite a conundrum in the proverbial "orc nursery".  An Exalted PC would not allow these helpless children to be destroyed.  Especially with Vow of Peace.  I could see a Vow of Poverty, Vow of Peace Monk taking the Orc children to a trusted monastary and arranging for them to be brought up in a loving, disciplined environment so they could become productive memebers of society.  Thus the monk will have maed a meaningful, positive impact on the world.  How many players are going to really enjoy playing in this environment?  And if you have an entire party of peace-loving mendicants, then you are playing a much different game than the Core rules assume.  In that case, high ACs are cool because it allows these PCs to sidestep the clumsy attacks of their deluded enemies while they try to preach a better life.  But as I said, be absolutely sure you understand how typed bonuses stack and overlap before you worry about the high AC.</blockquote>
