I've been away for work for a couple of weeks, and i missed the message boards; this evening i've seen -at last- episode II, and i want to post all my delusion. I read many of your enthusuastic opinion on the worst episode ever, even worst than the phantom menace. It is -first of all- annoying. I was thinking to exit the theatre before the end, but my love for the saga let hope remain in my heart 'till the end. But apart from seeing yoda figting with the light saber i doubt that i've choose right. Attack of the Clones is just a HUGE videogame: space race, platform, and at the end strategic ones (there is even the olographic system stolen to command and conquer). If in Braveheart there were a lot of actors battling each other, now there is just CG. The story is just a mess. There is no plot at all, everything seems to be just for fate, but at the same time everyone knows how it will end. Is it that a sort of new JEDI power? If Darth Vader felt the arrival of Kenoby in the Death Star, why SARUMAN did not feel the arrival of the entire Jedi counseil? No, of course, he knew that and prepared his robots to strike the conseil, but then Joda arrivea with the clones (did someone warned that with the clones there were included transport ships?) that someone already dead paid with Jedy-Credit-Card (!) and the battle begins... Amidala falls, face on the sand (but she will be able to track the secret base where Saruman -who is famous to have created not only the Uruk-hai but even new droids) and no one help her because the wisest thing is going to stop Saruman. But after the duel (there is the technology to clones, but anakin has to show with an arm that even C3-p8 never accepted to have) Yoda prefer to save Obi and Ani and let Saruman escape with Death-Star plans, and begins a long lasting wars: is it the wisest thing to do? if yoda did it, of course it will be! (after all, he wants to be paid to make episode three, and he already knows that long time in the futur...ops ago already shot the episodes 4 to 6)... Why Kenobi let Han solo use the millennnium falcon if he's able to escape from missiles? Why they let Jar Jar alone take a decision so important for the entire republic? Why there are so many scenes shot at Como's Lake (ITALY) where half the cinema (adults) were yawning and the other half (kids) where complaining? Is it possible that TWO masters jedy cannot think that if in a map there isn't a planet, but there is its gravity influence, cannot think that this planet could be erased from the map? A planet, i wish to help you to remember, a cook with four arms knows about, but no other in a council of people with mystical powers? If amidala is so important for the peace of the entire galaxy, why choose a padawan as her bodyguard? And what does it means to escort her in a public bus in secret if she's accompanied by two of themost famous jedy in the galaxy? ...and in my opinion the dark side comes when there is a mix of midiclorians (or whatever they're written) and Ormons! (Luke didn't choose the dark side because Leila never show up with those kind of dresses (even when there's no need to) and the physical appearance of Natalie Portman.... One last thing: what if Ani said that he slaughtered men, women and children, showed hate versus Obi, just for convince Amidala to show her "political" skills? After all we didn't seen how it went... :) Steven McRownt
