I love the internet!!!

It's been an unbelievely uneventful day at work today, and I've taken advantage of the slow-ness to work on my game for the upcoming Chicago Gameday.

I am quickly realizing that the internet makes prepping for games SO much easier. I've managed to find all sorts of artwork, maps, and just ideas in general just surfing around a bit. Being new to this DM-ing thing, I can't imagine what it must have been like to prepare for games without the internet.

So I say, again, "I love the internet!"

You know, being a DM for a half year w/out the internet, and now a DM for half a year WITH the internet isn't as big of a difference as one may think. While there are plenty of cools pics and whatnot, my DM skills themselves are still in the "room for improvement" area. However, I have to admit pics, still like the NPC wiki and EN World have definitly expanded my horizons. Hell, I wouldn't have heard of Iron Heroes without it - and if I had, I might not have bought it. Now that my players and I are going so far as to design a campign world around it, I have to say that I am all smiles :D

Otrher stuff is that I want to get into some Conan and Lovecraft novels, Know more about how to build better characters, more on how to make some decent preps for gaming, new gaming books coming out, Old (3.x, but usually hard-to-get) gaming books I want, and the amazing Order of the Stick comic

A bunch of other stuff too, like the Pleasure Prison of the Bthuvian Demon Whore ;)

Internet does help me out, but just as often it hurts. "Uh guys, I'm totally not prepared for today. Spent too much time surfing the internet and chatting on EnWorld..."
