I made Amazon happy today

Today I used my Amazon vouchers (from last Xmas and my birthday just gone) to purchase the D&D Gift Set (PHB, DMG, MM), first three adventures, DM Screen, a set of Dungeon Tiles...and a book called D&D For Dummies (it's on Amazon UK and I figured it'd be a good way to get some friends involved!)

Before anyone asks, yes, it's all coming separately - so now I feel like Amazon are going to be sending me presents for the next few months! It came to about £120 UK, including postage - and that includes some deals on the adventures and other things.

I'm very happy. And very excited about receiving it all.

Just so you're aware; D&D for Dummies is written in 3.5speak. I know a friend of mine erroneously ordered it, thinking it was for 4th edition. If you are aware, I apologize for being annoying.

Kudos to you, though, for supporting my employer.

"Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition For Dummies" is scheduled to be released on July 15, 2008, and Amazon has it available for preorder.

I've done pretty much the same thing (no Dummies book for me though). Yesterday I went to the local grocery store with all my change and had it converted into an Amazon gift certificate via CoinStar too. $93 off the forthcoming 4e goodness!

I ordered the Gift Set thing from Amazon, too -- and ever since, they've had at least one 4e product in my Gold Box every day. The combination of Amazon's already reasonable prices, free shipping with Prime, a 5% discount for preordering, and then another 5% discount for the Gold Box... well, that's just too much to resist. End result is that I think I've preordered basically every single D&D product WOTC is publishing in 2008. I figure I can always cancel the preorders if I change my mind, so it's really just locking in the option to buy them at the discounted price.

Hmm. "I can always cancel my preorder" shades very easily into "I can always cancel my preorder, but I choose not to"....

Yup, that's the one that I've ordered - I checked!

I'm sure Amazon are going to pester me forever with other D&D 4e products, which is not really a problem as far as I'm concerned...
