I miss print magazines.

Last night I was thumbing through my old Dungeon and Dragon magazines looking for some adventures/ ideas. I realized that I really miss the magazine format. (By the way, thank you Paizo for Age of Worms and Savage Tide!)

Are there any monthly magazine subscriptions for pathfinder/3.5? Is anyone in the magazine business for RPGs anymore?

Kobold Quarterly

Be warned, there are systems other than Pathfinder that are supported (4E & Dragon Age most notably) very much like how Dragon didnt only support whatever the official version of D&D was at the time...

I'm a print journalist. While content isn't going away, you should be prepared to miss print publications as a relatively affordable category even more in the future. Everything will be digital with a small print run for those who are willing to pay through the nose for it in the relatively near future, with very rare exceptions. (Within a decade or so.)

Display ads -- ads that aren't classified ads -- have been dropping in revenue in print publications since the 1980s, well before the introduction of the World Wide Web, and aren't likely to ever recover.

For what it's worth, I miss print magazines, too.

Yeah, I have to agree, I too miss the old Dragon and Dungeon magazines. But unfortunately it just doesn't seem to be worth the time and money, mostly the latter, to put them out any longer. KQ is out there, but it doesn't really cover a wide range of RPGs, mostly PF with a smattering of other similar games.

I miss print magazines too. People have already mentioned kobold, and I agree. But knights of the dinner table also has a lot of great gaming content (reviews, dm advice, adventure ideas, etc). Thats ontop of having a great comic strip. It has been my go-to gaming magazine for a while now.

People have already mentioned KQ, but as a Pathfinder player you could get your monthly gaming fix through Paizo's adventure path installments. Not quite a magazine, but close.

In the "other RPGs" category There's Fight On!, which is quarterly, and sort of a magazine. It reminds me a lot of early issues of Dragon.

I publish a monthly, print fanzine called Loviatar. It's 20-24 pages, digest format and has material for Pathfinder, GURPS, WoD and so on. It's cheap at $3 for a single issue or $2/mo if you pick up a subscription.

You can check out the current issues here: Loviatar: Shop for Issues

Some of you might remember my old rag, Scrollworks from the d20/STL era. Loviatar is very much Scrollworks' descendant in terms of feel and format.

Yeah.

I've just spent the week stuck with almost no internet connection, and I sorely missed Dragon magazine in particular. Even the Pathfinder Adventure Path product, while excellent, really doesn't hit the same spot.

In the end, I bought the latest issues of "White Dwarf" and "Imagine FX". Only problem is, the former is really quite boring if you don't play any of the games it covers, while the latter is mostly pointless for someone with no artistic talent to speak of. Still, better than nothing.
