Defenders of the Faith, on the otherhand, is a book I'm tempted to take the Stick of Pain to players for trying to use some of the stuff out of it. Hospitalier, Master of Shrouds and the armour of speed come to mind. Templar, Warpriest and a few of the other PrCs, and the 3E versions of Recitation and Righteous Wrath of the Faithful were good, but the whole thig stunk of bad playtesting or shoddy editing.MM2 isn't that bad. Most of the critters are good and fun to use, though the desmodu fetishism is a waste of the paper it's printed on.Gnomes aren't too bad. Up until a few days ago, I honestly didn't know what to do with them in my homebrew world*, but know I think I can get to like them. IMC they're essentially LotR Hobbits crossed with tinker gnomes. Good-natured homebodies with their little workshop out in the shed.BoVD and Dragon#300. I can understand the controversy, but most of the material isn't too bad, and it's very useful for showing how truely despicable the villain can be. My own complaint is with the spell searing seed. Very, very nasty spell (not the damage etc, the conotations) and after using it in game, I realised I'm never going to use it with a female player in the group.</blockquote>
