I need a Gnome!

CBC Radio

First Post
Hey there,

Matthew from CBC Radio here.

We're doing a little radio documentary on the upcoming 4th edition release of D&D.

I'm looking for someone who plays a gnome or who has played a gnome in the past.

Tell me the story of your gnome. His (or her) greatest triumphs, closest calls, and strongest loves.

Come on, let's hear from the Gnomes!

My first D&D character to actually survive more than a few levels was a gnome. He was called Baldon Dragonrider, a fighter-illusionist (1st Edition AD&D) who somehow (this was in High School and we were all ubermunchkins) managed to tame a black dragon, hence his surname. He was pimped out in paht lewt, as you young whippersnappers say today.

Hmmm... this must be for a piece on Q or Spark. (Dare we dream it's for DNTO?) Or am I shooting too high on this one? Perhaps this is only for one of the provincial morning shows.

There have to be other Canadian members on the board who have played gnomes, so please try to interview one of them.

PS. I'm going to be teaching a university course using D&D 4E in the Fall semester (somewhere in Ontario). If you're interested Matthew, tell me where I can contact you.

Dangnabbit, I know Whizbang Dustyboots is playing a Gnome now, but I haven't seen his mug around here for a while...
Did someone cast summon gnome?

Let me get my work done and I shall regale our friend from the frozen north about Baeril Nebehed Callad Segerf Wanderwild Underhill (currently known as Bariwann Cloakshadow), the gnomish tourist/consulting detective and his faithful thrush companion, Half-Penny.

I actually played a gnome until I retired him. He was a fighter/rogue/duelist, and wound up with a hook hand (which eventually had the ability to burst into flame on command), a peg leg (which he could use as a scattergun [took a full minute to reload, so it was only useable once per encounter]), and an eyepatch which made him immune to charm spells. He has recently set up shop in a large seaport, where he works with a human wizard and several goblin assistants, selling magical items to adventurers.

CBC's doing a spot on 4E? Interesting.

Most interesting gnome story? Huh. I totally ignored that annoying little runt in NWN2, that's probably the most interesting story I have....
