Gond might do it for the excuse to build said machine, but he won't be a suitable overlord after, as he doesn't give a damn about psionics - they're not techy.It might be Oghma tasking you to find the Words that will make you God of the Hidden Art (much like truenames, those words would be unique to the situation: Character X attempting to take Portfolio Y from Dead Deity Z). Oghma would fit thematically as both knowledge and psi are things of the mind.It might be Mystra, who hopes to gain indirect control over the Hidden Art, so it won't fall into the wrong hands, like Talos or Cyric.</blockquote>
