Looks like I need to call on your guys for advice - yet again! I need a group of NPC foes for my players to face on Tuesday. The catch - no magic! The PCs are barricaded in a vault, which is encompassed by a anti-magic field. To make things worse, the PCs consist of a wizard, a sorceror, a cleric and a paladin. It's a 17th/18th level party (all 17th, the paladin just hit 18th). They are accompanied by a 16th level mind-flayer. His psionic powers aren't working, either, but it might be worth statting him with some combat ability to beef up the party's muscle. The vault is a drow treasure vault / armoury. It is filled with treasure, weapons and armour, although none of it works in the anti-magic field. They have been pursued this far by drow soldiers, and this is where the fight is to happen. Given the magic-free zone, this is an opportunity for me to play with the Iron Heroes rules. What I want to do is create the attacking drow party with these rules and give them a whirl, hopefully surprising and confusing my players in the process. Normally, I'd say that the IH foes need to be of lower level than the PCs given the lack of magic. However, part of the PC strattegy will be to locate and opena secret door and lead the fight away from the anti-magic zone, so magic will play a part after a while. Note that the anti-magic zone is set up in a way that magic comes back slowly, in inverse proportion to the distance from the centre of the zone - the further away they get, the higher level spells they'll have access to. Same applies to magic items. So, please help me by statting out some bad guys using the IH rules! I realise that there are no races in IH, so I'll just be using "drow" as flavour text.
