I Need New Dice! is My RPG podcast about recovering from DM burnout, and my rediscovery of love for the hobby.

Episode Zero is up, and I hope I can get some feedback from you all. Episode Zero is about using music in gaming.

I am hoping to have broken it in enough for Episode one to be awesome when it goes up in about 2 weeks.

I figured why not and listened to your podcast. I've faced burnout a few times before, and its no fun at all. Hope things work out for you.

As far as music goes, I'm all for it in games, but I haven't gotten very proficient with it. I have a number of soundtracks, and I've gone through identifying which tracks are good for combat, suspense, and peaceful times. I have made a few CDs solely with those tracks on them, and it's worked okay. Ideally, I want to have my sound wired up through the desktop and control it that way, but it hasn't happened yet.

The podcast itself? It seemed a bit long for me. I'm not much of a talk radio person and I'm not sure about other podcasts, but it just felt lengthy. Your voice came through very clear, which is always a plus. I'm never one to trounce people's hobbie though, so please don't take it as such. If you're having fun with it, definitely keep going.

Ruined- Actually this is very good to read, and one of the reason's I have gone with an Episode "Zero"- To get the kinks out and get all sorts of feedback.

"A bit long"- I did go over my target length, and have been told by some that know me in real life that I was not as enthusiastic sounding as they would think I would be while podcasting. In part I know that is because I am still getting comfortable with the medium - I've never podcasted before- and I am not sure if my perspective as a Burnt out DM recovering is appealing to listeners. “Episode Zero” was in part so I could force myself to get something out there, feel comfortable with the medium and then get started on episode one.

I really am feeling an upswing in my thinking about the hobby and my mind has been going a mile a minute on gaming topics. I am actually fighting off the urge to work on episode one this very minute (as I would love more feedback first)

Thank you for the clarity complement and your feedback. I’d love you see what you think of the next episode.(Will be up in just under two weeks)
