I so... SO ... want to turn this into an adventure.

I so, so want to turn this into an adventure.

Have the PCs trek through a forest, where they have to find out why there have been recent disappearances or some other strange creepy introduction. They find a cottage and are attacked by seven dwarves. After eliminating the dwarves and going into the cottage, they find Snow White who says she was kidnapped by the dwarves. Turns out she was inside, saw the fighting and waited to see the outcome. Now when she has the PCs trusting her, she leads them to an apple tree and tries to get them to eat the poisoned apples. If they figure out she's lying, she suddenly starts attacking them, because it turns out she's a solo star pact warlock, or a star spawn, or something creepy.

I have had a couple of songs that have sparked inspiration. The only one I ever developed into an adventure was an old song called "The Tower" by Chris DeBurgh. The PCs investigated the strange disappearance of all the birds in the kingdom.

Most inspirations for adventures in my games comes out of random conversations I have with people in my gaming group or friend circles.

Sometimes I can be inspired to include items or characters by little tidbits of history or local folklore, like a type of yellow flower in Mauritius that was called 'werewolf flower' by the local people.

I find real world myth and folklore, weird monsters like Nuckelavee and Jack-in-Irons, to be the most inspiring for D&D. For superhero I'm mostly inspired by comics of the past, particularly the Silver Age.

I get my place names mostly from Atlases. Recently I discovered a hill in the Cheviots called Ogre Hill, so that went straight in.

Those "dwarves" look like spriggans to me. Make Snow White into some creepy fey monster and you've got a start. What fey are pale? Shadar-Kai?
