I have actually been aware of this fact for some time. In fact I had already cut back on my spending, such as stopping my Paizo subscriptions last year, etc... However, after responding to a discussion about RPG costs and how the market is doing at an RPG companies forums, I got to really thinking about it again. In just the last 90 days I have spent over $1,000 on gaming between taking my family to a convention, over $300.00 on the Reaper Kickstarter, to spending nearly $200 on 4 RPG products this past week. Not to mention several other Kickstarters and other products. None of which I NEED, or needed to do. When you get down to it I haven't needed to buy anything once I bought the core books of the RPG's I like. I don't NEED to buy another single RPG product. Ever. My family and gaming group members can game with what I already own for the next couple of hundred years, with a wide variety of RPG's to choose from. I think I need to get real, and really responsible, about my RPG spending. I think its time for me to go "cold turkey" and simply stop buying anything. There is nothing out there I truly "need". I have a lot of thinking to do.
