Nightfall
Sage of the Scarred Lands
Due to a comment made by an anonymous individual, I think it's time I addressed you all here in this forum about me, S&SS and my online persona.
Firstly, and let me clearly say this, I love, respect and value Monte Cook. He is everything a gamer designer should be, erudite, polite, firm and yet fun to be around. Without Monte Cook there wouldn't be a 3rd edition nor even a d20 system. Period. Thus I say props to Monte.
Secondly and more importantly, I love S&SS. More than that, though, I love S&SS and it's affiliates. This includes Malhavoc Press who I feel represents the best in High Magic, High roleplay and adventure. Having guys like Bruce Cordell and Sean K Reynolds only adds to such like. I personally own and enjoy the Books of Eldritch Might (all three, first one in print the other two in PDF), Requiem for a God, Book of Hallowed Might AND while not a Malhavoc Press book, Book of Vile Darkness. These are all FINE books and represent alot of what I love in both d20 and 3rd edition. So while I willing to admit, I love the Scarred Lands, the affiliates of S&SS I love and enjoy a lot of stuff from too.
Third and probably even more important than second point, I am not in the position to dictate S&SS policy, affect any kind of change or even have an influence over S&SS figures/developers/publishers. I don't have that kind of pull folks. I merely am friends with one of the S&SS developers and I know one or two S&SS Affiliate developers/publishers. (Even then not well.) I do not have the power to make things happen. I just report what I know, just like any good fan would. I am a fan that's all. While I am a seemingly powerful online authority, in real life I can't even get from one place to another without help. I am just another mere mortal that has a computer and really no social life. So when I say "I'll see what I can do." What mean is "I can't do anything folks."
So to the d20 publishers here, especially people like Hal Greenburg from MEG games, Tony Bounds of Dark Portal games. (Buy a copy of Enigma of the Arcanexus folks and more Bluffside stuff folks! They are in my collection and I'm proud they are there), I say sorry and to the rest of you as well.
