I'm not a prolific poster. The boards scare me more than entice me. But I just had to get this off my chest. I WANT 4E NOW! Seriously. I don't care about the grognards. I don't care about miniature dependence. I don't care about tieflings and dragonborn (although, not IMC thank you very much!). I don't care about all the Negative Nancies and their criticisms. I just want it. Now. How can you not be excited by this? The developers involved are some of the most skilled in the industry as has been proven by their previous works. Am I a fanboi? I don't think so. But I find the whole concept of people who really understand the inner machinations of game mechanics who really love gaming who are working on this edition to make it the best they possibly can, really exciting. Sure, GG was a pioneer. There are some great works in previous editions. I love Greyhawk. But gaming is like any hobby, sport, technology, etc. The longer it exists, the more skilled and knowledgeable the creators and designers become. I have nothing against previous edition designers, but I do think there is a certain reality in that this editions designers know more about gaming than others before them. Doesn't that excite you? Sure, not all new cars are as good as previous models. But let's face it, wouldn't you rather drive a new car than an old one? The old one has charm, no doubt. In fact, I'm a big fan of classic cars and intend to one day own a Ford GTHO Phase III. But given the choice as a practical car for every day driving, I'd take a brand new Ford Falcon base model over the classic. Anyway, let this thread fade into the oblivion of the second page if you must. I just felt the need to say I'm looking forward to the new edition and discovering all it entails.
