I want to roll my dice!

I'm bummed.

I have all these beautiful dice. But when I DM 4E I wear out my d20s (rightfully so, I love the golden rule) and then my d6s and d10s rolling damage.

My d4s sometimes make an appearance, usually for improvised attacks and very early heroic tier monster damage.

My poor d12 and percentile die just sit there, unneeded, unloved.

So how do I show **all** of my dice the love they deserve while running the fourth edition of our favorite game?

I generally use three different d20s during any game: My yellow one that the PCs hate (which usually rolls 15+, before hitting a streak of low rolls), my grey one (which also rolls insanely high), and my blue and white d20, which is more "balanced". I tend to play with which die to roll as I see fit.

The rest of the dice get brought out as needed. And yes, I love rolling the d12 as well.

hmm.. make up some tables for wandering monsters/random encounters
or a list of treasure items you'll consider as part of treasure parcels and then roll the dice to decide which item off the list will be part of the parcel.

but, yeah, in any case, d12 and d% aren't going to see much use unless you go out of your way to use them. (I think i recall one brute monster that I've used that uses d12 for damage calculations - i just remember it because i recall having to fish out the d12 when i wasn't used to using it...)

Where are there RAW in 4E that call for d12 or percentile?

If I recall there are some weapons in the Adventurer Vaults that use a d12 damage die. Anywhere else that is readily accessible to a DM planning an encounter.

Is percentile used anywhere?

Percentile - Just use them as extra d10s, 4E does not use percentile dice
d12 - I searched the online compendium for monsters that use d12s:

1d12 - 178 monsters
2d12 - 176 monsters
3d12 - 65 monsters
4d12 - 27 monsters

My players trust me enough that they know I fiddle things around to make things more interesting, so I simply just use the percentile dice to determine random decisions and I use the d12 to replace monsters with d8 or d10 damage rolls a bit more 'dangerous'.

The problem with the percentile dice is that pretty much everything you could need it for is more easily resolved with a d20... few things require something more fine than 5% intervals.

You could always incorporate Hackmaster's quirks and flaws into 4e character creation... that ought to be pretty fun :-P

I always use my percentile dice when rolling for random encounters. I also use them for rolls to check availability, or supply / demand for items. If a player wants to find an item, for instance, I'll decide what the chance is that a community of that size has one, then roll percentile to determine it. Likewise for selling unusual items; check to see if there's anyone in town who wants a giant golden parrot, and is willing to put up a reasonable sum of gold for it.

I could use a d20 for those rolls, but I prefer my percentile. They're just fun to roll.

In my games, the d4 and the d12 see the least use by me. One of my players wields a greatbow, however, so he makes up for my d12 deficiency quite nicely.
