Message: <blockquote data-quote="BiggusGeekus" data-source="post: 2736327" data-attributes="member: 1014">I skipped a lot.What really helped my college performance was flash cards.  I would make up a bunch of flash cards and quiz myself constantly.  I still do it now, the last time I went through a round of job interviews I had a deck of maybe 50 cards with common java programming questions.  If I had enough raw facts and formulas memorized, I could generally zip through about 75% of any quiz or test.  Then I'd use the extra time for chugging along and trying to figure stuff out.  I generally got Bs and As with this method.  How does this relate to skipping?  Because in some cases I realized the prof was just reading the book to us.  I could skip those classes as long as I made up the flash cards.  In one case it helped me because a Chemistry prof would show up drunk to class and make mistakes.  I got straight As after I stopped showing up.Of course, your milage may vary.  If I were a prof I'd have a quiz once a week on a random day.  That'd keep jerks like myself in line.</blockquote>
