Message: <blockquote data-quote="Rel" data-source="post: 1927659" data-attributes="member: 99">That's true, but it's still sometimes understandable.  I mean, if you name the Gnome Artificer Stephon McTallywacker then you're kinda asking for it.  I once named a pair of throw-away NPC's (ones who were allies of the party but I was sure wouldn't survive a battle) Hurlbat and Hardick.  They survived and became an ongoing part of the campaign.  Much laughter ensued each time their names were mentioned.Then there are times when you don't see it coming.  Quick story:I was a player in a group and our characters were being strongarmed by the local city guard into going after the Thieves Guild.  We had no particular beef with the Thieves Guild and so we contacted them and made a deal.  Instead of attacking the Thieves, we would go after a violent local gang of their rivals, deliver up the bodies to the City Guard and identifiy them as members of the Thieves Guild.  Then we would scram out of town before the Guard was any the wiser and collect a substantial payment from the Thieves Guild to boot.Another member of our group was very concerned that our treachery was going to be revealed to the Guards and we would would incur their ire.  I sarcastically remarked that the only way we would get busted was if the City Guard were all telepaths who could read our very thoughts.  With the matter settled, we went off to meet our liason with the City Guards.  As we entered his office, he greeted us."Hello, I'm Captain Mentil of the City Guard."We fell all over the floor laughing and it took several moments for the GM to figure out why.  <img src="http://www.enworld.org/forum/images/smilies/laugh.png"  class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing    :lol:" data-shortname=":lol:" /></blockquote>
