*Vanitri heads to the Hall of Choosers. He applies for the Omega and Daryne first. Each is administrated by the professor that is currently the Housemaster for those two dormitories.* *First, Vanitri talks with Omega Housemaster Cedric Bronwen. He is a graying man who is certainly nice but seems a bit stuck on the fact that Vanitri has no previous research. Finishing up the conversation, Professor Bronwen nods to himself and tells Vanitri:* "Unfortunately, since you do not have a past record of research or scholarship of note in the field of magical innovations or artisanship, I'm afraid I cannot offer you the Omega Memorial Scholarship. However, that does not mean that we would not love to have you with us in House Omega. Your interest in magical artifacts is genuine, and you would have a great time here, I think." *Later, he meets with Rayne Liore, the Housemistress of Daryne. The first thing he notices is that Rayne, a half-elf, is the first non-human professor he has met so far. Although she seems far too young to be a professor, Vanitri knows that half-elves age differently than humans. Professor Liore and Vanitri hit it off swimmingly, and he spends much of the interview telling stories about his adventures. In the end, she smiles as she tells him:* "Vanitri, it is clear that you have displayed great dedication, energy, and commitment, not only in your adventures but in taking care of this sweet little girl and going out of your way to find her a home. These are all qualities that were looked upon with admiration by our house's namesake, Headmistress Daryne. Furthermore, some of us among the faculty have been passing around a little paper from your first examination. Your fanciful but still reasonable response to one of the unanswerable questions shows great imagination and vision, and these are the qualities Elayna Daryne cherished most of all, in all her students as well as in herself." "It is my honour to award you the Elayna Daryne Memorial Scholarship, if you choose to come live with us in House Daryne. It will pay for a quarter of the total tuition, 500 gold. I hope you accept our offer, but even if you don't, you should come visit me sometime and we can talk some more.
