Warm light dances across the panes, and within, movement and color stand in stark contrast to the gray ruin outside. A sign hangs above the door, its message painted in many different alphabets: <strong>“Every basher is welcome here.”</strong></p><p>Inside, the air is alive with sound and scent. Tales are boasted loudly over shared tables, voices rising in laughter and song, all in praise of the food. The pantry bustles with color bright posters plaster the walls, and the rich aroma of simmering soup and freshly baked bread clings warmly to the air. Strips of parchment, carefully folded into the shapes of flowers, adorn tables not already crowded with folk sharing pots of stew. For a moment, sheltered from Sigil’s cold rain and endless tension, the atmosphere feels genuinely welcoming almost defiantly so. </p><p></p><p><strong><span style="color: rgb(41, 105, 176)">Menu</span></strong></p><p><strong>Breakfast</strong></p><p>Sootbread Toast with Scraps Jam</p><p><em>Yesterday’s bread revived with a touch of toasting and smeared with a questionable fruit spread, heavy on the mystery berries. </em></p><p>Hard-Tack Porridge</p><p><em>Oats boiled to near-paste, sometimes featuring sweeteners like molasses or honey (if Allesha’s been lucky that week). </em></p><p>Mystery Egg Medley</p><p><em>A scrambled mess of “eggs” (source unspecified, but often avian) spiced with leftover herbs. Good luck guessing what kind they are today. </em></p><p></p><p><strong>Lunch</strong></p><p>Pigeon Stew with Wilted Greens</p><p><em>Tender bits of pigeon and barely identifiable greens floating in a thin, tomato-based broth. Comes with a side of stale crackers.</em></p><p>Tomato Soup Surprise</p><p><em>A generous pot of watery tomato soup, sometimes thickened with yesterday’s leftover porridge. The “surprise” is some days it might actually have flavour.</em></p><p>Panfried Rat & Root Hash</p><p><em>Seared rodent meat diced and mixed with tough root vegetables. Surprisingly hearty, if you don’t mind knowing the main ingredient squeaked its last just hours earlier. </em></p><p></p><p><strong>Extras (if you’re lucky) </strong></p><p>Twice-Baked Crusties</p><p><em>Hard bread slices baked again to crunchy perfection. Perfect for dipping or using as a makeshift weapon. </em></p><p>Pickled Slum Cabbage</p><p><em>A sharp, sour side dish fermented with vinegar and hope. Keeps the stomach occupied, if not happy. </em></p><p></p><p><strong>Drinks</strong></p><p>Vegetable Scraps Tea</p><p><em>Hot and earthy, with a suspiciously orange hue. Unlimited refills, because even Allesha can’t pawn off that much of it. </em></p><p>Herb-Infused Water</p><p><em>Boiled water steeped with whatever herbs are handy. Refreshing, with a side of “what’s-that-taste?” curiosity. </em></p><p></p><p><strong>Dessert</strong></p><p>Candied Squiggle Fruit (Seasonal)</p><p><em>Sticky chunks of something sweet, caramelised to disguise whatever it once was.
