Morwin & the Red Wizard Morwin the Tressym familiar folded his wings and crept like a cat up the last few stairs that led from the cellars into the Jester's Pride Tavern. He could smell the burnt, crushed metal that had been his familiar counterpart known as ORB3 and he did not want to meet the same fate, even if he could be summoned again after the fact. He stopped at the highest stair and peered across the room that had once been the happy Common Room of a bustling tavern. The front door of the Jester’s Pride stood slightly ajar, and was cracked and dented. Stained-glass windows to the east of the door had many broken panes between strips of lead. The common room was in total disarray - the tiled floor was covered in a layer of splinters, shards, and bloody grime. Two corners of the room contained fireplaces, and the rough stone walls and pillars showed signs of recent violence and vandalism. Across the ceiling was a network of copper pipes. Most of the furniture was overturned and broken. On the eastern side of the room was a bar with a large set of shelves, all of which had been hacked and smashed. From a door to the east came the Red Wizard. He had gathered travelling gear, and he crossed the room heading for the tavern's front door. Morwin watched from a safe distance, and when the wizard pushed the front door aside and began to climb the stairs that led to the street level (the tavern was quite underground), the familiar crossed the common room under tables and peered at the wizard from behind the door as the man ascended.
