The ditch was lousy with goblins, and he slaughtered the first one he came to. His sword was in both hands, covered with a green flame that burst as he struck with it, and it burnt the face of the hobgoblin. Then he was surrounded and a goblin stabbed in, scraping along the ice-armour, which froze up the goblin's arm. The goblin shrieked and the next goblin shied back, afraid of the same thing happening to him.
