I was just sort of thrusted in, you know."</span> Finding nothing wrong with the spikes, Felix turns the mace around and begins to examine the axe head. <span style="color: Red">"You should consider yourself lucky that you at least have somebody to back you up. Lucky, or smart. I was neither when I walked in here."</span> Felix ceases to examine the weapon and looks up at Derin. <span style="color: Red">"Still, luck can change. I now have backup, and you now have another blade. It's funny how fortune changes."</span> He resumes examining the axe. His brow furrows, and he lowers his voice. <span style="color: Red">"Damn. I must've chipped it earlier. It'll have to wait, I'll smooth it out later."</span></p><p></p><p>Finished with his inspection, Felix stands up and hefts the weapon over his shoulder. <span style="color: Red">"So, what drew you to these so-called Hallowed Grounds? Whatever you were looking for, short of slow death or eternal darkness, you're bound to be disappointed. But, whatever your reasons were or are, I'm interested."</span> Felix's hollow, yellow eyes fix on Derin, and his eyes seem to grow distant as he begins to think to himself. <span style="color: Red"><em>"We're all in it together now, aren't we, Derin? We're all in Fortune's hands now. Some of us are on Her fingers, others in Her fists."</em></span> Felix's focus returns to Derin and his eyes snap back into focus. He gives a faint smile.</p></blockquote><p></p>
