They introduce themselves as Laozi and Meng-zu, pupils of Zao the Robin. Marius recognizes their bows and identifies both of them as students of the Ascending Sun, the order's mounted archers. Their horses shouldn't be far, as well, holding an intimate link with their riders. As Marius mentions Odreos' name, the monks nod in approval. His master is well-known among all others, and Marius' name does not fall far behind. The shadow school commands great respect for all the dangerous tasks it takes upon itself.</p><p></p><p>"We heard rumors of your departure, brother..." - Laozi starts - "...and it didn't come as a surprise. Troubled times, I believe, are ahead of us. Odreos himself sent forth some of your fellow shadow students to investigate the many strange happenstances that plague the lands south of the Mouth of Fire. We ourselves helped some refugees here..." - he gestures towards several dwarves, clearly mountaineers lodged in the Oddfellows. "A golden spur's with us as well..." - he uses the common designation for the knight-paladins of the Order.</p><p></p><p><strong></strong></p><p><strong>MORGRYM</strong> </p><p></p><p>As the druid takes his parcel of food, he begins to realize how many mountain dwarves are around. At first the druid considers them to be merchants, just as himself, descending the mountains to trade cheese and wool for the barley and wheat from the lowlands. Soon enough, though, this first impression vanishes. They're too numerous, counting among their numbers a fair share of children and elders, none of which would ride with a caravan. Before Morgrym can inquire about their presence, though, he overhears a familiar voice from over his shoulder calling out to him. </p><p></p><p>"Morgrym?" - young Adelia's voice calls out to him. The damsel is Rurick's younger sister, one of the many farmers to live a few miles away from Morgrym's hut.</p><p></p><p>"Morgrym, you're here!" - she repeats, excitedly. "Good winds, at last! How did you find us?" - she gestures around, and now the druid recognizes a few faces from the valley where he tends to his flock.</p><p></p><p><strong>SHAYURI</strong></p><p><strong></strong></p><p>The sorceress' disguise works like a charm. The merchants pay no attention to her. In truth, no one notices her distinctive features, mistaking her for another peddler. Her request isn't frowned upon as well, and a nice mixture of a rare southern wine is soon brought up. The tender brags about having a selection of frozen wines as well before moving on to the next table.</p><p></p><p>As the companions debate their next steps, Shayuri notices the tension pilling up around. The refugees are a sure sign of trouble in the north, and the locals seem to be concerned about the ever-present menace of foreign troops around the desert. One or two moans of fear also arise from the strange disappearances happening all over the White Wastes, probably linked to the legendary ancient city, rumored to have reappeared in the deepest recesses of the dry lands.</p><p><strong></strong></p><p><strong>HAGADARK</strong></p><p><strong></strong></p><p>A pair of halflings serve the orc without complaint. Their discomfort is clear, but they're smart enough to stay quiet and tend to his needs. A pair of gnomes, puffing around their pipes, surround Hagadark with unashamed curiosity. Eventually, one of them gathers his courage and comes around the greenskin, offering a flagon of strong ale and attempting a shy, clumsy conversation.</p><p></p><p>"I heard there's trouble up north..." - he begins, unceremoniously, as he tries to emulate the courage of a warrior. "Your men marched to the external towers, didn't they?" - he spits to the side, puffs once more.
