The only signs you see of Evendur and the orc is a shortsword in the water near the shore that _might_ have been the sword the paladin used to cut his way through the webs. The water is dark, beyond the first few inches of depth it is impossible to see very far into it. The dark water flows away toward the north and the current seems to disappear under the eastern wall. There are three passages out of this cavern. While waiting to escape you were able to learn the following from your fellow prisoners: Toward the northwest is an area of lakes and water filled passages called Darklake. The closest settlement you are aware of is Sloobludop, a koa-toa enclave. It lies on this side of the Darklake and Shuushar would be able to guide you there and from there to any other settlements in the area (Gracklstugh, Blingdenstone, Neverlight Grove. It would take a little more than a week to get there (according to the koa-toa hermit). The southwest passage leads toward a dark dwarf citadel called Gracklstugh. Buppido is from there and can get you there. He says it is a manufacturing and trade center and would be a good place to get equipment and information. The northeast passage takes a long way around darklake and can get you to Menzoberranzan (drow city) and Blingdingston (deep gnomes...Jimjar, Topsy and Turvy are all from there but Topsy and Turvy seem hesitant to go there). It would take well over a month to go the long way around to get to Blingdenstone from here but it can be done. According to the deep gnomes, Blingdenstone engages in trade with the surface but has come upon some trouble recently. Attacks by earth elementals and other creatures is putting a strain on the deep gnomes. Another settlement is Neverlight Grove. This is a myconid village and it is where Drum is from. Drum thinks that if you brought him back, his "parents" would likely be very thankful and helpful. Right now you are all on the shore of the pool. You have all the gear you were able to carry out of the guard tower, plus the loot Erevan and Ezraen managed to grab from Ilvara's tower. The drow are beginning to come out to fight the demons. Sarith indicates that they will very likely pursue you. Losing this many choice slaves will bring disfavor upon Ilvara and she will die before leaving that sort of stain upon her soul. Three of the Chasme and the one Vrock are now attacking the drow. One Chasme is dead. One Vrock is unaccounted for. Take a moment to discuss what you want to do. Here is a thumbnail sketch of the lay of the land.
