There was a loud popping noise from the portal and something like a roar. Udit flattened his body to the floor and rolled to the side as a huge head, shaped something like an extremely ugly bird, thrust it's way out of the collapsing grey mass. It squawked, a horrible sound, as the portal collapsed - severing it's enormous and hideous head.The head fell to the floor splattering black goo over the no-longer functioning summoning circle as Udit scampered back to the hall where the others stood. Zander had already stepped past him, ready to defend the group if the creature had still been alive.</blockquote>
