Ice and polymorph any object

Okay, got a question. Say I'm playing an ice wizard and I want to transform my stone tower into an ice palace - what would I classify ice as? It's not animal... but is it vegetable or mineral? I'm kind of leaning toward mineral, simply because it's not a plant, but it's not really a rock either. And can I use fabricate to suck moisture out of the air to make something from ice, or is that just cheating?

Definately a mineral; it's a crystal. The only thing that sets it apart from diamond is 1. it's made of hydrogen and oxygen instead of pure carbon, 2. it has a diffent matrix for its crystaline structure, and 3. it has a much lower melting point.

Thats a lot of 'only thing' - it makes it compleely different

(but yeah go Mineral. and I'd so using fabricate to suck moisture from the air is cheating. But using it to shape rain I might consider)

I think that fabricating ice out of water seems a more reasonable basis

Cheers
