I know there are a few fans of the ICONS Superpowered Roleplaying Game from Adamant Entertainment at EN World, so I thought I'd tell you about a Kickstarter project I'm working on with some familiar ICONS and industry names - Steve Kenson (ICONS creator), Steve Perrin (of RuneQuest fame), Dan Houser (ICONS line artist), Mike Lafferty (Fainting Goat Games), Troy Hickman (writer of the Eisner-nominated Common Grounds), Jason "Doctor Comics" Tondro, John Post (official ICONS adventures author), Walt Robillard (HAZARD Studios) and Adrian Smith (artist).

We are putting together an ICONS city setting sourcebook for supers (which also includes a toolkit written by Steve Kenson for building your own collaborative settings involving both the GM and players) called STARK CITY. This project has been months in development and a daily collaborative process from everyone involved - I've really enjoyed being a part of it and getting to work with such an amazing group of pros. We have less than two weeks left on the Kickstarter, and we are very close to reaching our funding goal.

If you are interested in learning more and possibly contributing, please visit our Kicktarter page:
Stark City: Setting and City Building Toolkit for ICONS RPG Kickstarter

There are also links to a bunch of freebies and more information about STARK CITY on my blog, JUST ADD HEROES.

There are PDF and print options available at reasonable prices ($10 for all the PDFs, $25 for all the PDFs AND the printed compilation). Initially we will release the PDFs and then the printed compilation. We are targeting January 2013 as the release date for the first supplement, Welcome to Stark City.

If you are an ICONS fan, this is definitely worth checking out, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you for your time!

Many, many thanks to everyone who contributed - we've now reached our funding goal! There is still time, however, to contribute to the STARK CITY Kickstarter if you are interested.

We've also released a free preview of the Catacombs, Stark City's literal criminal underground. This brief overview is just a small taste of the neighborhood that yours truly (Joe Bardales) has contributed to the Stark City campaign setting.

And here are links to some past free previews:

Stark City: Hero Turf Profile 2 - Tesla Park

Stark City: Hero Turf Profile 3 - Silver District

Thanks again!

With just seven days left, we've added some stretch goals - A new STARK CITY adventure module unlocks at every $250 over the original goal. All backers will get all stretch goal products that are unlocked. One adventure has already unlocked, and we are very close to unlocking a second adventure.

Here are a list of the adventures we're considering:

End Times by John Post
It's the end of the world as we know it... A doomsday prophet has come to Stark City. A cult has formed around him and his apocalyptic message. It was easy to dismiss him before his predictions started coming true. Is it really the end of the world or is something else causing the natural disasters to strike the city? Can the heroes stop the End Times?

What Will Come by John Post
A series of "impossible" thefts of ancient, arcane objects have occurred around Stark City. When magical citizens and minor magical heroes start disappearing, the heroes are called in to investigate. Can they uncover whether the events are related? Will the stop whatever nefarious scheme is behind the events and rescue their colleagues?

Defy the Prophecy by John Dunn
Something seems terribly awry in Geartown. In the past week, itwas discovered that two prominent citizens were clockwork doppelgangers. Were the clockworks the originals, or did they replace existing people? If so, where are the originals? If not, how far does this conspiracy extend? The heroes must stop the incursion before it can conclude in certain disaster.

There's No Place Like Home by Steve Perrin
Blurb: One second you are keeping a runaway experiment from devastating Stark City and the next you are standing in an abandoned, dilapidated, mansion. The Stark City you know has been replaced by a decaying and decrepit rust heap. The abandoned mansion's address is where the Tesla Innovation Park was located in Stark City. Gerrisburg is a separate and more affluent city. No one seems to have heard about any supers guarding the city. Ever. But the local radio station is airing reports of "a strange super in buckskins" roaming the streets, exhibiting strange powers, and breaking up petty crimes.

Come to the Temple by Steve Perrin
A natural disaster near Stark City uncovers an ancient alien relic. The city's scientific community are astonished and flock to study this rare find. However, the site soon draws attention from extraterrestrial parties as well.
This adventure will serve as an introduction to the cosmic elements in the Stark City setting.

Thanks again for your support!

many thanks to our backers - we're now 120% funded!

There are still 4 days to jump on the bandwagon. Backers will get to see Steve Kenson's setting rules for ICONS at least a month before they're released to the public

check it out!

Last chance, ICONS fans - 11 more hours left! We're 129% funded, so this is definitely going to happen now, and we've unlocked THREE Stark City Adventures as stretch goals which all backers will now receive. $10 for the PDF sourcebook and three PDF adventures OR $25 for the PDF sourcebook, soft cover hard copy, and three PDF adventures is a great deal!
