Idea for easing bookkeeping

Characters in DnD are always getting enhanced and enchanted and poisoned and whatnot. What if I simply made a set of index cards printed as follows:

You are now:

The duration is:

This means:


And fill in the blanks, and hand these out to characters. For example...

You are now: Experiencing Bardic 'Inspire Courage'

The duration is: until bard shuts up + 5 rounds

this means: you get +1 to damage and vs. fear

I'm a big fan of using note cards for spells, items, etc. It seems like they would work great for 'status' as well.

Whoa...with that idea and Initiative Cards, a DM could be unstoppable...

That's an excellent idea. Wish I had thought of it.
