Nemmerle: As always, a fair appraisal of the situation. I certainly wouldn't want to harm the driving concept behind Iron DM...so let's just forget my TV induced foolishness. In truth, it was more of a silly suggestion I wanted to share for amusement's sake than anything else. I plenty happy with the current format of the Iron DM competitions, and look forward to defending my title down the road :)! Wulf: Wouldn't Iron DM Quandary be more apt? For my part, I'd want to be known as Iron DM Subterfuge or perhaps Iron DM Dire Cricket :p. Nifft: What would happen if the defending champ lost to one of the current round losers? Would he/she immediately be knocked out of the tourney, and thus abdicate the throne? Mirthcard: On the one hand I agree with you, that having the reigning Iron DM should not necessarily be guaranteed a battle with the new tourney champ. Instead, they should just be given a spot in the current contest. On the other hand, I'm all for a bye into a pre-arranged match versus the next contest winner for the Iron DM as the prize (along with honor & prestige) for victory in the previous tournament. I guess that means I'd be happy either way -- how's that for decisive :D?
