Ideas for Eberron campaigns?

Let's hear 'em - what are you ideas for Eberron campaigns?

Here's a couple I had in mind:

The Link. Anywhere, on any day in Eberron, there are things out there left from the Last War. Warforged abandoned and left insane, psychic bombs, scrolls which will unseal spells mighty enough to wipe out a nation, portals to Khyber, self-replicating, regenerating monsters that just make more when you kill them, spreading rapidly, destroying ecosystems, like a swarm of locusts. And this is just from the era of man - older, and stranger things are out there from times past...

All just waiting for something stupid to happen - all waiting for the moment when everything breaks down. When the center does not hold... and things fall apart.

Eberron is an unexploded bomb, and the destruction of Cyre is what happens when we don't pay attention.

The Link was established to clean up the messes of the last war before it destroys all of us. 1,284 people, each with a special skill - from every continent on Eberron, with skills varying from trap removing to advanced linguistics, to the most arcane of sorcery -- to the strange. Half-crazed inventors, skilled runners, writers, philosophers, vampires, artists, xenobiologists, even "monsters" who realize that their own survival depends on everybody getting along for at least long enough to solve the current crisis... from Humans to Kalishtar to Bugbears to Beholders - the Link is run by the enigmatic Soren First, and coordinated by the long-range telepath Kali Beta. Anyone you know could be a member - and at any time, they could be needed...

Cleric - Part Western, part Fantasy, the Cleric is a man determined to find the Pantheon, which has abandoned their charges, and demand an answer from them as to why. Joined by a motley crew, and beset by the duped tools of the gods as well as by conspiracies both overt, like the Silver Flame - and covert, like the Hand of the Pantheon, the Cleric will have to handle the quest the only way he can.

By kicking ass and taking names.

How about a rescue service that deals with the "tourists" who go to Xen'drik looking for souveniers but invevitably get lost, captured, poisoned, dipped in acid, whathaveyou? There might be rival teams; each team would have to have a good tracker plus other sundry skilled persons to assist in rescuing these rich aristocrats.

This is the central idea behind the Eberron campaign I'm starting (hopefully, next month). A fourth type of shard containing silvery, fluid, mercury-like veins is showing up in Xen'drik. It is something like an anti-Khyber shard - it has powers related to freedom and unbinding. The major powers are aware of this type of shard, and are trying to control the supply of these shards (they are very useful in crafting rings of freedom of movement and other items that protect against domination and mind-controlling effects) while preventing them from falling into the hands of the Lords of Dust and the Cults of the Dragon Below who want to use them to release the daelkyr, rakshasa rajahs and demons bound in Khyber.

The loss of a single shard can be the focus of a starting adventure. As it's going to take more than one to free anything world-threatening, failure create a real sense of loss but will not have dire consequences immediately. Higher-level adventures can deal with more significant threats, such as the construction (and imminent activation) of a fantastic machine powered by such shards.

The Dream - Dal Quar is making its move, with the use of dragonshards and hidden monoliths (page 222) the Dreaming Dark has been able to merge areas with their home plane as if it were coterminous. At this time it is remote areas for a limited time but time is running out, players have to find the hidden monoliths, the creators, and destroy them.

Ronin - When the Last War ended so did the need for the services of many of the five nations "shadow" warriors. These leader-less warriors now sell their skills on the open market to those willing to pay. They are the Ronin.

The campaign starts as the PCs meet for the mission at a small restaurant in Stormhome. They are all from different parts of Khorvaire and, until just a few years ago, they were enemies. Their mysterious benefactors say little about the object of the mission but as it unfolds they end up traveling across much of Khorvaire hunting for it. Ambushes and double-crosses abound. In the end their "benefactors" intend to tie up all the loose ends which includes the PCs.

"No questions. No answers. That's the business for you. You just accept it and move on."

I don't like globetrotting. I like campaigns that are more geographically centralized.

In that vein I like the Idea of a campaign that takes place in the Eldeen Reaches and to a lesser extent the Demon Wastes. The characters would get involved with the different druid sects. Like helping the Gatekeepers fight off a band of Rashkasas while avoiding the Ashbound who are hunting the PC's for using arcane magic against the demons. There is a lot of political intrigue and anciet secrets and horrors to be explored in this region of Eberron all by its lonesome. I could very well run a very long campaign and never take the PC out of these two regions.

"The Frequency" and "Preacher". Nice..

And to stay on-topic: Eberron sparks me as the kind of place that's perfect to run a "Saturday Morning Heroes" style campaign, featuring a motley team of stand-out fantasy heroes set against the plots and schemes of a dark villain...

For exemple: The Claws of Thunder, a team of Shifters with werecat ancestry, many of them skilled Artificers, fighting against the schemes of a vile Mummy Wizard and his magically-mutated minions...

The Master Inquisitive PrC is really inspiring. How about stealing the plot from The Maltese Falcon? One player plays Sam Spade, and the others could play Mrs. O'Shaughnessy, Joel Cairo, The Fatman, even Wilmer. I've always wanted to run a game where the players are not working together, but all vying for the same prize (other than Paranoia that is).

For those of you who have not seen the movie (shame on you! Go rent it! Now!):

Sam Spade is a partner in a private-eye firm who finds himself hounded by police when his partner is killed whilst tailing a man. The girl who asked him to follow the man turns out not to be who she says she is, and is really involved in something to do with the `Maltese Falcon', a gold-encrusted life-sized statue of a falcon, the only one of its kind. (IMDB)

My idea is of an innocent citizen of Breland mistaken for a spy by clandestine agests of the Emerald Claw. After a botched kidnapping attempt, the hero escapes and is chased across Khovaire by these villains.

Our hero travels by foot, airship and train from Breland to Zilago, to Talenta to Thrane; he encounters evil, murder and seduction, meets villains and a beautiful woman. The adventure ends in adramatic encounter on the face of the monument of Lord Mror in Ironroot Mountains.

I envision it as a solo adventure. I think Ill call it North by Northeast ;)
