Woody Allen took a Japanese spy thriller, redubbed the dialog, and made it into What’s Up, Tiger Lilly. That movie’s MacGuffin was the recipe for the perfect egg salad.

So why not a small tome of magical recipes for food, beverages, or both?

Other options:
A magical porridge pot, cauldron or other vessel
A never empty flask of oil, container of flour or other ingredient.
An elixir that makes plants or animals permanently larger (HG Wells’ Food of the Gods)
A cornucopia
A glass, swizzle stick or decanter that can Detect an/or Neutralize poison
A chef’s knife that is eternally razor sharp
A hearthstone with magical temperature control

Some non-magical ideas

1. The Maitre D's reservation list/diary. It provides an alibi (or maybe destroys an alibi?). Also, the restaurant would be seriously embarrassed if it loses its reputation for discretion.
2. A bottle of Chateau Redshield 1567: "the finest wine in existence". A powerful mage wants this wine as the price for a specific spell? A wealthy connoisseur wants to taste this before he dies?
3. A single silver coin, displayed in an ebony frame. This is (allegedly) the FIRST silver coin that the proprietor's great-grandparents ever earned in the restaurant. It has immense significance as a family heirloom, but its only material value is that it's made of pure silver. It's not even legal tender.

Hello, secret is part of it's name.

A Basket of Everlasting Provisions that is attuned to some historical master chef's personal recipe book.

The technique to prepare fugu (that fish with a poison bladder).

Map to find where the highly rare blue lobsters (or whatever) nest / mate / are exposed to gene-modifying radioactivity

James Bond's instructions for his martini, explains why he wants it shaken not stirred. The real secret agents think there is text in invisible ink written on the page, or it hides a coded message.
