Message: <blockquote data-quote="Capellan" data-source="post: 1764778" data-attributes="member: 6294">A new edition is currently in playtest.Should I feel guilty about owning two copies of every book except 4 and 5, then? <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)"  data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":)" />If you want a copy, check eBay ... they pop up there every month or two.  The first three generally aren't too expensive to get.  Books 4-6 are more rare, and much more expensive.  It's the Fighting Fantasy system (from the gamebook series) with specific skills and various kinds of magic added on.  The flavour of the game is very heavily in the 'light-hearted action' mode.  There were three books in the series: Dungeoneer, Blacksand! and Allansia, plus they also re-released Out of the Pit and Titan as the monster book and setting book, respectively.Again, eBay is a good place to find this one.Some other games I thought of, that I forgot to mention the first time:Lace & Steel - an Australian-designed game of renaissance era fantasy; rapiers and rapier wit abounded (diplomacy was handled by the same mechanics as duelling)Maelstrom - the one released by Puffin in the early 80s.  I'm a product of my era, and this was one of the first RPGs I played.  It also has an unusual setting, inasmuch as it is a historical RPG (16th Century)James Bond - played this a couple of times and had a ball.  Would like to give it another run.Everway and Theatrix - so many cool ideas, though I think they would be very tough on the GM</blockquote>
