From the first moment that land is sighted, J'hanna stays up in the bow, straining for the first glimpses of her homeland. Once the ship begins to make its way through the crowded harbor though, she disappears down below, packing her gear and getting the old man's casket ready to unload. She is one of the last off the ship, carrying the casket down with the aid of a few sailors and depositing it at the base of the wharf. Local folk would help her from here, she is sure- it is just a matter of finding them in the crowded and chaotic dockside rush- plenty of folk left the farms for the sea, or the sea-side, especially after the blight began to take good land. As she scans the crowd of dock-workers and harbor folk, her gaze falls upon the other 'outsiders' from the ship. Aedon, she knows, is bound to go with her, to see the blight for himself- and perhaps that odd Academy girl will go as well. The others seem to have no place here, but they had seemed honest enough, hard-working, at least as much as she can tell. She steps a bit closer and speaks, raising her voice to address as many of them as she can. "Welcome to the island I call my home, though I wish I could offer you a warmer greeting. Some of us are bound to return to my village, to lay an old man to his rest, and to examine certain strangeness that the masters of the Academy feel is important. It is not a long journey, but some extra hands might be helpful, and I know that the elders of the village would not begrudge some repayment for honest work in assistance. Would any of you be willing to accompany us?"
