Monk works for the character theme (since someone asked, his reason for venturing aboveground was traditional wanderlust -- the other mind flayers were all too bookish and obsessed with theory rather than action, and he was just too impatiently ambitious for that.)Anyway, did end up taking monk, and got an OK on considering my tentacles an unarmed strike (for damage, flurry of blows, et cetera purposes)... At 14th level, it's not a huge difference (the others are still dealing out way more damage than these... mainly taking Monk for its utility)Some more fun game moments:- We find a genie in a bottle. Cash in on some non-risky stuff, then we have one wish left... We've been warned that genies are tricky, and will try to pervert your intentions, so I suggest to him that it might be fun to give a person what they really want for once. So we get a Ring of Three Wishes.- Later, we get hired by Orcus (apparently this is the plot of the campaign) to go and destroy the cults of the other Demon Princes... We gather some information on Demogorgon's cult, and find out (among other things) that the guy who's running it is assembling a library of vile things, as an emblem of his evil or something. So I go out and buy a blank book, and begin writing The Sexual Confessions of a Mind Flayer, as a starting point to infiltrating his compound.</blockquote>
