Ill-fated characters?

Ever have a character that nothing good seems to happen to? And plenty of bad stuff?

For example, this is the character I'm playing in a current campaign (Under a GM who is a good friend of mine out of game, so it's not like he's trying to hint I should leave or anything, we've talked out of game and we're cool with whats happening):

Starsong S'Rytha started out life as a male woodelf shaman.

Starsong S'Rytha then became a spider-elf* shaman.

Starsong S'Rytha then gained a curse of repulsion**.

Starsong S'Rytha then was changed into a hermaphrodite.

Starsong S'Rytha then was split into a male and female half, the female being the "real" me and the male being an evil demon-possessed version***.

Starsong S'Rytha then lost 2 of his spirits because they sided with his evil twin.

Starsong S'Rytha then lost 50 years of his life and 2 levels of XP****.

Starsong S'Rytha then lost 1 point of con*****.

Starsong S'Rytha then lost an arm.

* Spider Elves are this DM's sort-of varient on Drow... not as evil, and not as munchkin (No ECL), but similar physical appearance and niche in the ecosystem.

** Basicly, everyone hates me on first sight. I give off a "bad aura"... It can be overcome, some, if you know me well, but it's like making a really, really bad first impression.

*** Long story. It was sort of an attempt to fix the hermaphrodite curse, gone horribly wrong.

**** Though, to be truthful, I didn't exactly "loose" it... I sort of sacrificed it, as a payment for a favor from the gods. Hurts none the less, though.

***** This, too, is the result an attempt to cure a curse (The repulsion one, in this case) gone bad.

Now, in fairness, I've brought some of it on myself. The whole spider-elf thing, for example... I murdered someone in a fit of passionate rage. Not in game, but it was a sort of "dark past" in my background. The curse was "justice" from the elven god for being a kinslayer (He was my blood-brother). The gender thing, too... I was a shaman, and I took a demon-summoning prestige class... I was trying to represent a "corruption" of my character, kind of. (This was back at level, oh... 3? It was an easy p-class to get into. I'm level 8 now, and we level SLOW in the game. It's been a long time.) I didn't exactly read the terms of the contract very well, though... Once I found out how in over my head I was, I got out, but not unscathed. And lets just say that the choice to deal with a succubi was not the best choice either...

But, yeah... My character keeps having bad things happen to him/it/her... Ever had a character with really bad luck like that? Oh, sure, we've all rolled bad on the resurection table before, but time and time again?

Ode to Tyren Heldamar... The highest level 4th level character we have ever known.

From the Sunless Citidel.
Tyren was a Fighter/Mage, from first level. The first, and last, dual-class character our group has had. His creation was difficult, his level up was a mess.

During the encounter with the kobalds, he made it past the caltrops and over the wall after about seven rounds. Just in time for the battle to be over.

From the Forge of Fury.
Was absolutly determined to kill the Imp that was only attempting to escape. He threw his back pack at it for lack of a ranged weapon. A backpack full of his spell book and oil flasks.

Playing the hero to a T, he rescues the poor maiden from the dungeon, despite his friends warnings. Just in time to enjoy his shiney new level, he discovers he "rescued" a Succubus. Tyren -1.

In Speaker in Dreams.
Gets hit with the level drain trap, but at least survived it, unlike the guy who was in his third character.

As a fourth level chatacter, could not keep up with the mischief of the 1st level Bard and Rogue, who made a habit of laying traps for him.

In RTTEE.
Got bespelled by his own party so that they could go loot the temple to Moridain.

Got killed by the Girillion, got Riencarnated as a Halfling. Tyren -1. To add insult to untimely demise, the party Rogue was a Halfling.

Left to get himself turned back into a Human, his interim character Draco almost incited a civil war in the party.

By the time he returned, he had finally made 6th level, where as every one else was around 9-11th. Later he was drained by the Wraiths. Tyren -2.

He was a good sport through it all, but he had so many problems with every one in the group. Individuall stories of how he interacted with the other players was just to priceless. To his credit, he pulled of the hero more often than not. He just paed the price, with interest.

Ouch... My party may not be the best bunch of rogues in the world we are in, but they've never outright backstabbed me... Discussed selling me into slavery to pay for a magic item, once, but I keep telling myself it was a joke...

Least I'm not quite so far behind the rest of the group...

A certain wizard had a dog for a familiar. Had only one leg, one eye, was covered in mange, got an ear bit off and it's tail was broken. It answered to the name of "Lucky."

:D

Actually, my character is kind of a magnet for bad luck, too.

It's a sun elf wizard (abjurer)

His background tells us how he studied under a Necromancer (he was duped), then killed him to save an elf woman said Necromancer had imprisoned.
Then, when the two had fallen in love, shared their spirits, and lived for abaout twenty years, a group of Zhentarim (FR, evil organization) comes in and rapes and kills her, while blinding one eye of my elf.
Lastly, he cut his own right hand off and animated it so that he could flee.

Now, that's his background, making him a vengeful hunter of Zhentarim.

So right into the first adventure, we meet a beatiful woman who desperately wants to hug and kiss her saviors. A succubus, for sure. Goodbye to one level. (I could start at fifth)

Next thing we go up against is a black dragon (guessed it? Forge of Fury). My character tries to talk with the Dragon (focus on diplomacy), fails, and gets hit by two acid breaths before he can act, reducing him below 0 hp in the first round of combat. He survives, though.

So we leave the dungeon and head back home, when along comes a totally insignificant (!) chance encounter with level 1-Zhentarim warriors on horseback.
Three charge my character with lances, killing him instantly in round 1 (-12 hp).

The DM, shocked, transfers one damage roll to my character's horse.
So a few rounds later, when only three brigands are left standing, our bard drops.
My wizard, seeing this, decides to fly over to him (alter self-wings), despite having no protective spells (none memorized). One of the three remaining brigands hits him with a crossbow, reducing him to -3 hp.

That's before he falls 30 ft. down...

So, my Zhent-hating character, who was maimed and blinded by his arch-enemy, dies in the first in-game encounter with his nemesis, as a 6th-level wizard against 1st-level warriors, twice!

He's alive again, but not exactly kicking.

Understandable...

Poor guy probably shattered his leg-bones into a fine powder landing wrong. ;)

lilybo hobbit thief. 1dst edition
had his shorts stole by a grandmother in stagecoach. He was wearing them.
Got stuck as a Stone Giant after a party polymorph him to scout. Then waited a day to attack.
Reincarnated as troll
Reincarnated as orge magi
Reincarnated as half orc
Died failed system shock and was still Reincarnated as hobbit.
His god does not want him in heaven.
His party and everyone wants his ring. And I don't know what it does.
The ring wraiths want my finger with the ring. The rest of body is not need.
Party has fireballed him.
Dragons have breath on him.

Well the group once had a Elf Cleric named Bob. The DM would randomly roll to see who got hit first and everyone was always after poor Bob no matter where he was in the marching order.

Then there was my Elf cleric (this one wasn't a Bob) who never made a succesful turn (2e). Never ever. I tried every time there was a undead I had a chance of turning wich was quit a few.
