Some of the greatest TV series ever have taken several years to get into their stride and find their audience. Netflix throw too much stuff at the wall, hoping something will stick. They should create fewer shows, but shows they really believe in, and fully get behind. I also agree that they have problem with journalistic integrity over shows marketed as "documentary".On 1899:This is one of the reasons I called it out as being an old school Doctor Who story (specifically, Carnival of Monsters (1973)). They did a lot of running up and down strangely identical corridors in Doctor Who! Amazon Prime also has it's own writers-grew-up-watching-too-much-Doctor-Who show: The Rig.But a second series of 1899 was set up to be a completely different genre to the first, had it happened.On Wheel of Time/ The Witcher:It's a lot harder to do world-building on TV than in a novel (or RPG). There are both based on books I haven't read, so the TV show had to do most of the world building for me. And although I watched them, I can't say I ever really got into them. Personally, I preferred Willow, Rings of Power, and His Dark Materials, but then maybe I have idiosyncratic tastes.And the best recent SF TV is The Orville, by far.</blockquote>
