"Immortal Tier"?

Is 31st+ level the "Immortal" or "Divine" Tier? Meaning, do all gods--from demi- to greater reside within those levels? So we would have:

1-10 Heroic
11-20 Paragon
21-30 Epic
31-40 Immortal/Divine

Or is there something beyond 40th? Speculation?

There is something beyond 40th only when WotC runs out of books to publish for 4E and they don't want to move onto 5E yet... so they make a book which covers character levels 30 to 40. Once that occurs, then we'll see supreme overarching gods of 40+ level.

Considering how completely the Epic Destiny Capstone abilities often break the game, I wouldn't hold my breath for play beyond 30th.

Seems like ripe ground for 3rd party support, though.

I'm almost 100% confident that WotC will never publish anything player-related for 30+ play. However, I believe that Upper Krust is working on 30+ rules and content.

We will absolutely see WotC rules for play between 31 and 40, but probably not for a few years yet. There is always demand for rules to go beyond the level cap... even if those rules are messy and broken, which they always are.

All you have to do is look at D&D's history. 3E had the Epic-Level Handbook. 2E had Dark Sun's Dragon Kings rulebook. BECMI had the Immortals Boxed Set. I don't remember if 1E had a supplement for going past 20, but I'd be willing to bet it did.

As others have stated already, not officially. Most gods published have been in the low 30s as they are designed to be challenging opponents for a party full of high level badasses in the endgame of a campaign.

But I, for one, think an "Immortal Tier" rulebook would be awesome! And I'm not convinced that such a thing would be automatically broken by its very nature, nor am I convinced that WotC would only publish such a beast if they ran out of other options prior to rebooting into 5th Edition. I think my cynical gland is malfunctioning . . . .

Also, Epic Destinies are your exit from the campaign... that whole concept would be invalidated if you just had another 10 levels of adventuring after that.

Given that the level cap is one of the cornerstones of 4e's system balance and story, I can just imagine the hue and cry if WotC went ahead and did this. Personally, I don't think it would sell enough for WotC to justify the time, effort, and eventual headache it would cause.
