[QUOTE="TheSword, post: 9506430, member: 6879661"] Interesting review. My hard copy arrived today was able to skim then read the review. A few thoughts and responses. I really like the section on game prep and what to focus on if you have 1, 2 or 3 hours between sessions. I like that the adventures are one column summaries as examples rather than whole cloth adventures. I didn’t want to see a chunk of the book taken up with one use Tales of the Yawning Portal style adventures. The Magic item section is great. As 2014. To be honest I don’t get what Beth is saying about the item art. My copy is really clear and smart. I can’t really tell the difference between the two. Though maybe my eyes. I feel like poisons have far more useful variations and different ways to approach poison which I like. Some delivering damage over varying lengths of time. Others are fire and forget. The Greyhawk section is all very nostalgic. As is the glossary. Not particularly useful but interested from a purely lore point. Plus importantly the size of the book and the fact that everything was do need is also there means I don’t resent its inclusion as depriving me of more relevant stuff. In summary it feels more of a primer to DMing than any DMG before. Which is what a lot of us asked for. My 6th incarnation of the DMG (2nd, 3rd, 3.5, 4th, 5th, 5.5) and definitely the best yet.
