[QUOTE="rossik, post: 3881696, member: 43441"] so, i bought the "goblins lair" adventure box for the d&d box game (the old one :p ) and this adventure. as i received "the black knight" photocopy for free, i thought "hey, great adventures! easy to DM, and very fun to use the Thunder Rifts!" BUT, now im reading the Phantons wake... man, what alot of strange things! firts, it can by played without a DM. ond player is called "caller :uhoh: ", and he reads the box texts and do much of the DM stuff,,,but he only reads the thing in the book. if the player option is not amoung the options in the book, the matter "is not relevant (as the book say), and does not happen". as a 4-6 character of level 3-5, this adventure have a lot of undeads like skeletons and shadows, mummys and zombies ...but, u have this "new" (i assume) creature, the portal monster. it ALWAYS hit, doing 2d6 dmg to each pc. AC0, HD8**, HP 50, save as F8. and 13 xp. now that worth it :\ the players enconter this magical astrolabe that teleports them to the ship. then, somehow, they find the astrolabe and get back, BUT, if they kill more than 20 monsters, they can become traped here to replace the tripulation. not so motivating, in my opinion. then, when you read the astrolabe descrition, it says that the astrolabe never get teleport to the ship (it can teleport to any ship the DM whant). so, how to get out? man....im happey to have this book, as this matterial is very rare here in brazil, but as a adventure...not so :) (but im loving the Thunder Rifts area!)
