I happen to think that the incanatrix as written IS terribly overpowered, and was trying to bring it back to a reasonable level while maintaining the spellcasting progression, since (as I said) I don't agree with you that full progression is overpowered for all non-multiclass-type PrCs. I think that ditching one level of spellcasting progression might be appropriate; two is cutting it pretty close, IMHO.  Were I to ditch a level of caster progression, I'd go with 5th; ditching two, I'd go with 5th and 10th. Still, YMMV.</blockquote>
