I have a question. When a character takes the Incantatrix prestige class, they become an Abjuration specialist in all ways. However, it doesnt cover how to deal with this in the case of, say, a Sorcerer taking the class. I was wondering how some of you have handled this issue.
The 3.5 Incatatrix doesn't become an Abjurist (Player's Guide to Faerun). They simply select a school of magic they will no longer be able to access in later levels. So a sorcerer would take their first level in Incatatrix and select Necromancy as their prohibited school. This has no effect on their current spell selection but will influence their future spell selections/access.
Heh, the 3.0 version was really nice. Now, with the 3.5 changes *shrugs* eh. It's compounded even more so since our game group already uses spontaneous metamagic. So without some kind of adjustment we'll likely never see an Incantatrix.
