Incorporeal

So I was wondering if I could get some feedback on Incorporeality.

My party is currently combating a Ghost and I am not sure how this ability works.

The Ghost has a 50% chance to dodge any corporeal magic weapon (non-magic weapons always missing of course) but what about corporeal magic? Does that also have a 50% miss? Lightning Bolts? Fireballs?

Spells generally have a 50% miss chance, though force effects (such as magic missile) don't miss at all. See DMG page 78.

Yet another reason to always have Magic Missile.

Sounds like your group needs to acquire a ghost touch weapon quickly.

The description for this is that ghosts have a 50% chance to ignore damage from any corporeal source (including, spells, spell-like abilities, and supernatural). When I looked at this, I misread it -- thinking *all* spells suffered the 50% miss chance (except force effects). However spells that don't inflict damage are not hampered by this miss chance.
